Why Support
Gold Star Gamers

Gold Star Gamers is on a mission to help children who lost a parent who served in the military find hope and healing through competitive gaming. Through our programs the kids will be able to connect with others in similar situations, find new connections with gamers from the military community, rebuild self-esteem and find new confidence. We know gaming is an important part of kids’ culture and the military community. Join forces with us and let these kids and the military community know we will never forget.

We are on a mission

  • More than 100,000 kids have lost an active-duty parent. That doesn’t include those who have lost another important person in their life such as a caretaker, sibling, or other family member.
  • Sixty percent of kids who have lost a parent consider suicide because they feel lost, confused and alone (that’s 15,000 military kids contemplating suicide on any given day!).
  • Losing a loved one can be exacerbated for military kids who might be living far away from other family and may have few friends due to frequent moves. But there is hope for these kids.
  • It’s reported that an estimated 91% of kids are gamers, so what better place to reach these kids then through competitive gaming with a mentor. They realize they are not alone, and there are many other kids out there like them!
