GOLD STAR GAMERS ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH UKNIGHTEDXP TO EXPAND MISSION OF HELPING KIDS THAT SUFFERED THE LOSS OF A MILITARY PARENT FIND HOPE AND HEALING THROUGH COMPETITIVE GAMING
Colorado Springs, Colorado – During an official signing ceremony, Gold Star Gamers Limited (GSG), a 501(c)(3) dedicated to helping children that lost a military parent through their esport programs, signed a 3 year agreement with UKnightedXP for consulting services to help launch and grow the new non-profit.
“The mission of Gold Star Gamers is a sacred and incredible mission. Our team is very honored to serve our military families and community in this capacity.” said Mitchel Reed, CEO of UkinghtedXP, Inc. “Gaming and its’ culture is a powerful bridge that can facilitate healing and build resiliency. GSG has done a wonderful job with this. We are going to support them as they grow to meet the needs of the children and families of service members that paid the ultimate sacrifice.”.
Gold Star Gamers officially launched this past July 4th with their mentorship program and esport summer training camps. In August GSG hosted 12 Gold Star families from around the US in Glendale, Colorado for a Rocket League tournament in partnership with WarriorGMR Foundation, the military esport teams and Infinity Park at Glendale Colorado.
“As the mother of two boys that lost their father last year I needed a way to connect with them and help them rebuild their self-esteem,” said Martha Laughman, Co-founder of Gold Star Gamers Limited. “Gaming was something they did with their father. This is a way for them to live out their dream of playing in a professional tournament while honoring their dad. The support of the community has been overwhelming.”
Gold Star Gamers plans on launching after school gaming camps this year to connect Gold Star kids with Veteran gamers. They are currently looking for sponsors to offer more tournament events like the one in Glendale.
